1. Who we are
Azure & Verdant Lifestyle is an independent digital publication of Azure & Verdant Vistas, LLC. This policy applies to azureandverdant.com, ezine.azureandverdant.com and the forms and editorial experiences made available through those sites.
2. Information we collect
We collect information only when it supports a specific editorial, operational or security purpose.
- Feedback and reader responses, including the words you submit, an optional email address, language, source and follow-up preference.
- Photography submissions, including your name, email address, uploaded files, editorial note, rights confirmations and moderation information.
- Correspondence you send to us by email.
- Limited technical information that may be generated by our hosting and security providers, such as IP address, browser or device type, request time and error or security logs.
- If an email subscription is introduced, the address and consent information you deliberately provide. No active newsletter signup is currently offered on the site.
3. How we use information
- Operate, maintain and secure the publication.
- Receive, moderate and respond to feedback or editorial submissions.
- Evaluate photographs for possible editorial use and contact contributors before any publication.
- Understand technical performance and correct errors.
- Comply with law, enforce our terms and protect readers, contributors and the publication.
4. No sale of personal information
Azure & Verdant Vistas, LLC does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not currently use advertising trackers to follow readers across unrelated websites.
5. Service providers and legal disclosures
Trusted providers may process limited information on our behalf for hosting, storage, form delivery, security or other contracted operations. They are permitted to use that information only to provide those services. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, investigate abuse or protect rights and safety.
6. Cookies and similar technology
The publication does not currently use advertising cookies, analytics trackers or cross-site behavioral tracking. Essential browser storage or similar technology may be used for core operation and hosting security. Age eligibility selections for submission forms are kept in session storage. On the main website, your explicit privacy choice is kept in local browser storage for up to 180 days so we can respect it.
The main website automatically opens its privacy notice at the start of each browser-tab session, including for returning readers with a saved choice. Necessary session storage remembers that you acknowledged the notice so it stays closed while you navigate or reload pages in that tab. Your existing saved privacy choice remains in effect; returning readers may keep it without changing it. If browser storage is blocked or cleared, the notice may appear again. Essential only records the necessary-storage choice; Manage choices explains what is in use and provides policy and personal-information request links. You may reopen Privacy choices at any time. No optional browser storage is currently used. Reader Concierge remains minimized on arrival, after saving privacy choices and during navigation, and opens only when selected. It no longer stores a welcome or dismissal preference; earlier chat-preference records are removed when you load the updated site. Your existing valid privacy choice remains effective until its original expiry. These controls apply to this browser on this website.
Reader Concierge is an automated guide to published passages and story links. Chat questions are processed in your browser and are not sent to the publication or to an AI service. The conversation remains in page memory, is limited to the latest 40 messages, and is cleared when the page is reloaded. It is not stored in cookies or local storage. Information deliberately submitted through our separate forms or email is handled as described elsewhere in this policy.
If our storage or tracking practices materially change, we will update this policy and any required choices before enabling new optional uses.
7. Retention and deletion
We retain information only for as long as it remains reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, editorial records, security, dispute resolution or legal obligations. Rejected or withdrawn photography submissions are removed on a reasonable operational schedule unless preservation is required. You may request deletion, but some records may be retained where law or legitimate operational needs permit.
8. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction or deletion of personal information, or to object to certain uses. We will verify and respond to qualifying requests as required by applicable law. Send requests to info@azureandverdant.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
9. Children’s privacy
The publication is intended primarily for adults and older teens and is not directed to children under 13. Reading does not require an age declaration. Feedback and reader-response forms are for readers aged 13 and older; photography must be submitted by an adult aged 18 or older, including an authorized parent or legal guardian submitting for a younger photographer. We ask for a broad age group before displaying personal-information fields, use session browser storage to retain that selection, and do not request a date of birth or retain the age group in submission records. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through these forms. If we learn that a child under 13 provided personal information, we will stop using it and promptly remove it from active records and follow up with service providers where appropriate. A parent or guardian may contact info@azureandverdant.com about such information.
10. Security and international access
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the information we handle. No online service can promise absolute security. Information may be processed in the United States, where Azure & Verdant Vistas, LLC operates and its service providers maintain systems.
11. External links and policy changes
Our stories and item finders may link to independent websites. Their privacy practices are their own. We may update this policy as the publication evolves; the effective date above will identify the latest revision.
12. Contact
Privacy questions and requests may be sent to info@azureandverdant.com. Azure & Verdant Vistas, LLC is the publisher responsible for this policy.
These terms describe the publication’s current practices. They do not reduce any non-waivable rights available under applicable law.
